Roof System
This project is a unique example of a TPO roofing system integrated together with a photovoltaic solar panel system. In addition to the roof, a large solar panel carport building was constructed to increase power production. The combination of this power output with advanced building controls created one of Tampa’s first completely self- sufficient facilities.
The owner of this roof, given the unique solar panel attachment method by RAMCON, is able to obtain a 30% federal tax credit on the solar array. RAMCON installed an integrated 486-panel solar array on a 6,000 square foot Single-Ply TPO roofing systems at 107 Willow Street. It was one of downtown Tampa’s first completely self-sufficient office building. According to the building’s owner at the time, its summer power bill at the location for a 17,000-square-foot building has gone from about $3,000 a month to $600.
The roofing system obtained a 25 year NDL warranty on all components of the roof and TECO credit rebates, creating a positive cash flow from this facility very quickly and locking in low utility costs for 25 years!
